Mercedes-Benz S300 BlueTEC hybrid (2014)


Mercedes has unveiled the new generation S-Class and after a quick look at the stats, it’s obvious that they have raised the standards very high. The new Mercedes-Benz S-class has a short wheelbase version (with a length of 5,116 meters and a wheelbase of 3,035 meters) and a long-wheelbase version (with a length of 5,246 meters and a wheelbase of 3,165 meters). Through the drivetrains, the most eco friendly motorization is the S300 BlueTEC hybrid, with an average fuel consumption of 3,6 l/100 km (at least on the paper) and 115 grams of carbon/km. The other drivetrains are a S350 BlueTEC, with a 3.0 l V6, diesel engine, a S500 with a 4,7 l, V8 petrol engine and a S400 Hybrid, with a 3,5 l V6 petrol engine.
The S350 BlueTEC can develop 258 HP and 620 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,8 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h; the S500 can develop 455 HP and 700 Nm of torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in just 4,8 seconds and an el. limited top speed of 250 km/h; the S400 Hybrid can develop 306 HP and 370 Nm of torque, which translates into 6,8 seconds for 100 km/h and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
